Blue Avocado Review & Giveaway

The first day of school is just around the corner.  The majority of folks still have a few weeks left to prep for back to school, but we start on Thursday, yes you heard that right.....Thursday!!!!!  In light of this, I think it is time to start the annual back to school giveaways.  Yay, giveaways!  There will be many amazing giveaways coming up this month.  Please be sure to check back often.

Blue Avocado sent me a variety of their (re)zip products to try out.  I have used them several times over the summer.  They are great for day camp lunches as well as packing additional snacks into for camp or school.  Other uses include non-food storage/organization and travel.  These bags will come in handy on my next airline flight.  A great reusable solution for the TSA 3-1-1 liquids rule.

Features of the (re)zip are leak proof double-lock closure, freezer safe, BPA free, and PVC free.  The (re)zip bags come in a variety of sizes to accommodate all your needs.  The one down side is that the bags are not dishwasher safe.  Hand wash only.  Cleaning instructions form the Blue Avocado website -  for best results, fill the bag halfway with warm water and add a small amount of dish soap. Gently swirl bag to make sure all internal surfaces are cleaned, using a bottle brush on the corners if necessary. Rinse thoroughly. Drape over dishrack prongs and prop open to dry. Additional options for drying include placing over a glass or mug, or placing a fabric napkin or washcloth inside to absorb water and dry completely.  Blue Avocado (re)zips are a great eco-friendly alternative to use in lieu of disposable zip lock baggies.

What's for lunch?

Ham & cheese smiley face sandwich, baby carrots, grape tomatoes, ranch dressing for dipping, and red cherries (mid morning snack).

The lunch is packed up in our mushroom bento box and the morning snack is packed separately in the 1 cup (re)zip storage bag.

Turkey & Swiss tractor shaped sandwich, popcorn, and black grapes.  Packed up in the Blue Avocado click 'n go seal kit plus the 1 cup (re)zip storage bag.

All of the above plus a drink bottle and ice pack fit easily in the click 'n go insulated roll top bag.  My son (4 years old) thinks this bag is really cool.  He walks around clipping it onto everything.  The clip handle feature allows for easy attachment to any bag or backpack.

Giveaway

One lucky winner will win a click 'n go seal kit which consists of one insulated roll top bag, one (re) zip snack bag, and one (re)zip lunch bag - all pictured above.  Bag color choice is subject to availability.  Giveaway is open to US residents only and will close at 11:59 PM PST on Friday 8/7/15.  Winner will be notified via email and has 48 hours to respond.  Non-responders will forfeit the prize and a new winner will be drawn.  Please enter the Rafflecopter below.

  19. I love how modern, compact and durable these click and seal bags are. Not only are they environmentally friendly (thus eliminating the need to purchase plastic bags), they are also stylish. The possibilities for using these click and seal bags are endless. One can use them for summer camp, on road trips, for mid day school snacks, for college students to take food in etc.

I would use them to pack my daughter her early morning and late afternoon snack for school. She is starting VPK now in August and her school wants me to pack her snacks in paper bags. I hate the idea of creating more waste and these are just what the doctor ordered.

  21. How awesome! Have you had a chance to see how they hold up over time? I'd love to know how long the seal lasts and if there's any residual staining or odor issues from various foods.

    1. Hi! I have only started using these over the summer so I am no sure about the longevity. They are built well and the zipper is sturdy. I have packed pizza in the sandwich bag. Sauce got on the bag but it wiped off easily. Hope this helps.
