Snack Bentos

Every Wednesday is pizza day at my son's preschool.  So once a week he gets to enjoy a warm lunch.  He orders one piece of pizza and takes a snack to go along with it.  Today I am posting a roundup of his snacks.

Frog snack:  Carrot muffin, green grapes, yogurt covered raisins, and a grape tomato.  The frog container is from World Market.

Bunny snack:  Halved red cherries, Annie's cheddar bunnies, red pepper rings, and yogurt covered star cookies.  This snack is packed up in our Deer bento box.

Dragon fruit snack:  Magenta dragon fruit chunks, yellow pepper sticks, and red cherries - packed up in one of our Sanrio "The Runabouts" nesting boxes.

Car snack:  Fresh pineapple chunks and red pepper rings.  Packed up in a car shaped snack box (unfortunately not sold in the US) and one of our working car snack boxes.

Crayola tin snack:  Red and yellow pepper rings, Spiderman Cheez-Its, and chocolate chip stuffed raspberries.  This snack is packed up in our small Crayola crayon storage tin (see below).

Planes: Fire & Rescue

My sister-in-law sent this Planes lunch set to me this summer.  It was from the Target dollar spot, which coincidentally has been turning more into a $3 spot.  We got to see the movie this summer.  I must say that the sequel, in my opinion, was much better than the original.  Time for a bento version of Planes Fire & Rescue.

In this bento:  Edamame, 3D airplane carrot (Dusty), nectarine wedges, grape tomatoes, Laughing Cow cheese with a Blade Ranger sticker for decoration, and banana bread.

Happy Fall Y'all

If you checked your calendar this morning, then you saw that today is the first official day of Autumn.  Since I grew up in North Carolina I feel I still have the right to say "happy fall y'all" ;)  I personally love the first few weeks of fall.  The leaves are changing and the sun is still shining making it a perfect time to enjoy the great outdoors before the cold weather comes.

In this bento:  Pita bread, chicken, Driscoll's raspberries, sweet peppers, and black bean hummus decorated with thinly sliced carrot leaves.

Back to School with Driscoll's Berries

I am participating in the #Berries2School campaign sponsored by Driscoll's berries.  Today I am sharing bento lunches featuring their yummy berries.  Everyone in our house loves berries and my kids were excited to be getting an extra helping of berries in their lunches today.  Driscoll's is hosting a "Back to School" Instagram Sweepstakes during the month of September.  Each week one winner will receive a $100 VISA gift card and a lunch box.  For more details click here.

Breakfast for Lunch

In this bento:  Vanilla yogurt with granola sprinkled on top and a strawberry, small banana, red sweet pepper, half a bagel with cream cheese and sliced Driscoll's strawberries, granola, and Driscoll's raspberries packed in our Laptop Lunches bento box.

Add slices of strawberries to your bagel and cream cheese for extra yumminess.

My daughter just happens to have a field trip today and the strawberry carton came in handy since she needs a disposable lunch to take with her.

In this lunch:  Graham crackers with cocoa almond spread and Driscoll's strawberry slices (see below), small banana, sweet peppers, granola, and Driscoll's raspberries.

My daughter has declared that she is tired of sandwiches and does not like peanut butter anymore.  This made packing today's lunch more difficult.  I did not want to use foods that need to be kept cool.  We put our heads together and came up with these graham cracker sandwiches.  Graham crackers with cocoa almond butter spread and sliced strawberries....yum!  It is a little more on the treat side than usual but it is a special day :)

Also included in the lunch are a packet of Annie's cheddar bunnies and a Honest Kids apple drink pouch.

All packed up and ready to go.

I decorated the outside of the carton with a Frozen printable featuring Elsa (my daughter's favorite princess) and wrote a little note wishing her a fun day.

*Disclaimer - I received coupons from Driscoll's and a set of Laptop Lunches bento buddies for participating in the back to school with berries campaign.
