Back to School with Disney

Today was our first day of school.  My daughter started Kindergarten and my son started preschool.  I may have to try some new formats for blogging since I am packing for two now :)  The first lunch I packed was my son's first official preschool bento.  I did a Mickey Mouse theme.  When went to preschool orientation I noticed that his classroom was decorated with Mickey Mouse.

In this bento:  Peanut butter & jelly Mickey Mouse shaped sandwiches, champagne grapes, figs, broccoli, a couple black olives, and cheese sauce in the red cup for dipping.

My daughter's first day of Kindergarten was a short one.  They released the Kindergartners at 11:30, but they had "lunch" together at 10:30.  I packed her a snack to eat for her first school lunch since she would be home for regular lunch.  I packed her snack lunch in our new Frozen bento box.

In this bento:  Figs, champagne grapes, pepperoni, snowflake crackers, and a sliced up cheese stick.

All packed up and ready to go!

  1. I'd love to know how to pick a good fig! When I buy fresh figs they never look as beautiful as yours does. What's the secret?

    1. Hi! I will chalk this one up to beginners luck. This is the first time I have bought them. They have never been available where I live but we recently had Whole Foods come in to town and that is where I finally came across them. Sorry I don't have any great pointers for you.
