D is for Dinosaur

Tomorrow is Veteran's Day and there is no preschool.  I have quite a few back logged lunches, so I decided to go ahead and share this lunch.

In this PlanetBox lunch:  Red grapes, blackberries, "D" cookie, pretzel sticks, dinosaur fossil sandwich made with leftover roast beef, edamame, and a dinosaur shaped potato.

I have wanted the dinosaur silicone cups for soooo long!  Grace (from Eats Amazing) a UK based bento blogger uses them a lot in her sons different dinosaur lunches.  One night I was browsing eBay and ran across one set and had to buy them :-)

Zeal ,a UK based company, are the makers of those cute dinosaur silicone cups, which is why they are impossible to find here in the USA.  You can find them on UK Amazon.

  7. That's not a bento. It's a cutely packed lunch but it is nowhere NEAR a real bento. A REAL bento has your rice, a protein, some veggies, and some sides. Like ssamjiang or bean sprouts. This atrocity is not a real bento. That is all.

    1. @ Anonymous: A bento by definition is simply a meal packed in a box. What you are referring to is a “traditional bento”. I have made a few traditional bentos. However, this blog focuses on my style of bento - kid friendly American lunches with cute touches packed up in a box. Thanks for stopping by.
