28 July 2013

We are in the middle of monsoon season here in the high country of Arizona.  My daughter has become quite fascinated with the thunder and lightning.  She is still scared of it but just about every evening all three of us (daughter, son, & myself) are watching the storm pass through while peering out of my son's bedroom window. Therefore, a thunderstorm lunch was in order.

This lunch is packed in my Ugly Children's Clothing milk lunch box which all of you will have a chance to win down at the bottom of this post!

Left compartment:  Ham, salami, and tortilla thunder cloud sandwiches decorated with an American cheese lightning bolt.

Right side:  Green and black olives, red cherries, and goldfish.

The Review

The awesome team at Ugly Children's Clothing kindly sent me a couple of their lunch boxes to test out and review.  Not only do they have cool lunch boxes they also sell  kids clothing (just in case you could not figure that out from their name ;-).  A huge bonus is that they offer FREE international shipping all day, every day on any order.  How awesome is that?!

Here is what is in the box:

The lunch box has three components:  the outer shell, inner container, and plastic dividers.  The outer metal box is made of tin with a printed floral design. This lunch box's design pattern is from the old milk cartons that they used in the 70's in Norway.  The inside container is made from BPA free plastic and there are two adjustable and removable dividers.  The inner plastic container is dishwasher safe, but the outer shell must be hand washed.

The lunch box is a good size.  It measures 7 1/2 in x 5 1/2 in x 2 1/2 in.  I took a few photos of the lunch box with my Easy Lunchbox for a visual comparison.

Overall, we love this box.  It is versatile and can be use by kids and adults alike.  The lunch box can be easily opened by my four year old.  An awesome bonus that the inside container is dishwasher safe. Things to consider:  if the box gets dropped on the ground the paint may chip or scratch and hand washing is recommend on the outer tin box.  We are happily enjoying our Ugly Children's clothing lunch boxes :-)
