Southwestern Bento

The kids and myself had a little weekend getaway. We went down to Phoenix and visited the zoo and the science museum. My daughter was ecstatic to see the big sonoran cactus. I had to invest in a cactus cookie cutter while we were down there :-)

Starting at the top:  Orange clementine circles to represent the sun,  black olives on a cowboy hat pick, yellow sunburst tomatoes on a cowboy boot pick, cactus sandwich made with blue corn tortilla and ham on a bed of veggie chips (they looked like southwestern colors), and sheriff cucumber stars.

What I used to make this bento.

PanetBox.  Pottery Barn Kids

Cowboy boot and hat picks.  Oriental Trading Co

Cactus cookie cutter.  Sur La Table

Metal star cutter.  The Kitchen Collection.

Plastic star cutter.  Daiso Japan
